『邊界。游移』 - 呂宗憲個展

符號的運用廣泛出現在我們的日常生活當中,我們經常忽視這些符號存在的意義,卻深深的被它們所影響著,甚至可以說這世界是被符號支配著。一旦把所有日常生活中的符號抽離,現代社會就會崩塌失序。
「邊界。游移」,想藉由平面繪畫的載體提出這樣的反思,探討自身所經驗的場域、符號圖像與平面繪畫的相互連結, 日常場域中存在的符號,是我們行為舉止的一種依歸,只要去發覺並遵從它們的指引便可以繼續前行,生活也是如此,在看不見的力量下我們被迫活出社會想要的樣子,不知不覺中變的不像自己、不知道自己想要去的地方,我們都是在自我與社會準則間游移的人,想要回到一個自己的歸處,卻時常迷失在邊界上。
Border/ Drift
The use of symbolism appears widely in our daily lives. We often overlook its existence and meaning, yet we are deeply influenced by it. That is to say, the world is dominated by symbols; were our lives deprived of them, the modern society would loose control and collapse.
In Border/ Drift, the artist aspires to reflect this theory through his paintings and discuss about the interconnections among the personal experiences of space, symbolism of images and works of art.
The symbols around us steer our behavior. We can move forward only by perceiving and following them. Consequently, also in life, an invisible power forces us to fulfill the social expectations, loose ourselves and loose our direction. We vacillate between the self and social standards; hoping to redeem the self, we constantly loose our way on the edge.
